What it is
Ben Sessa, a British consultant psychiatrist, argues that psychedelic compounds belong in mainstream psychiatry, and reviews the clinical literature as it stood at the opening of the current research wave. He writes for clinicians as much as for general readers, and the British Journal of Psychiatry reviewed the book on publication. Its use now is mostly as a marker of what the field believed it knew before the large modern trials reported. It is no longer a current summary of the evidence.
