What it is
A memoir by chemist Albert Hofmann, who first synthesized LSD, recounting that discovery and the compound's path from a candidate psychiatric research tool to a controlled substance. The narrative also covers his study of sacred plants in Mexico and correspondence with contemporaries, and closes with his personal reflections on mystical experience.
